Trade with Europe was flourishing along the densely settled St.Lawrence River when this Map of British Possessions of North America was printed in 1852. There ia a road called ”Merrick’s Road" that runs from the Maine town of Wiscasset northward to Quebec City. I’d like to think this was Benedict Arnold’s Route but maybe there is someone out there who can put me right on that one. (printed in New York City)
