Framed maps showing historic properties make great closing gifts from realtors. This is a wonderful way to strengthen your relationship with the buyer of an historic home, and to get word of mouth working for you. Imagine the map being on the wall of the home owner and the people who will stop to admire and inquire about the map – which is where the word of mouth comes in!
Cadastral atlas maps showing property owners from the 1870-80’s are part of our collection. The Chase Cumberland County, Maine Map from 1857 is a huge wall map which we have recently scanned, and are “mining” for individual town maps 20 years older than the atlases. 19th Century cadastral maps from all over the United States are available. We have Portland (Maine) maps from 1690 – 1914, many hand colored by Galeyrie owner, John R. Barrows.
A buyer with nautical leanings or one closing on waterfront property would be impressed with a US Coast Survey of their favorite piece of the coast found in our US Coast Survey collection under the Maps Collection.
